Community

We are at the heart of our communities.

Through the proud commitment of DP World Saint John employees, we partner with  community groups to provide input, support, and expertise that has a real impact.

SJRH Foundation

The Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation raises money for medical projects, spaces and tools not covered by traditional government funding. It also supports mental wellness, research, education and patient comfort.

Many of the projects supported by the Foundation’s fundraising are suggested by health care professionals who see a patient need not being met. DP World, Port Saint John and the Saint John Airport are committing $50,000 to “The Give: Clinic One Enhancement and Expansion at Horizon’s Saint John Regional Hospital”.

Construction on Clinic 1 is expected to begin before the end of this year. The Foundation is in an ambitious, four-year, 12 million dollar plan to expand and renovate the busiest clinic in the province.

Joshua-Group

Joshua Group

The Joshua Group is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization serving at risk children in the Greater Saint John area. Ranging in age from 2 to 18 years old, these children generally come from single family homes, many of them fatherless. The Joshua Group places special emphasis on priority neighborhoods where families most often feel neglected and ignored by society. It’s not unusual to see poverty, child abuse, drug abuse, prostitution and criminal activities in these areas.

DP World Saint John actively supports Joshua Group through sponsorship of events and initiatives through the year. This year we part sponsored a Charity Comedy Night, the proceeds of which are donated to Joshua Group. In addition, we provided children at Joshua Group tickets to local area amusement games and events and donate Turkeys during the holidays to provide a nice meal for the children.

Market Place Splash Pad

We are proud to contribute in the creation of the Market Place Splash pad along with Port Saint John and American Iron and Metal.

July 5th marked the opening day of the splash pad, located on the West side of the city, behind a publicly funded community center. This park will allow children a fun and safe place to spend the hot summer days!
